Prison Art

I have never had the privilege of attending a prison arts and crafts fair but it is definitely on my list of to-do's. Does anyone know when or where there will be one? I smell a road trip!!!

One of the least documented and most radical forms of prison art is the tattooed tumbler. They no longer sell these types of cups in the commissary so this may well become a lost art.

They are created by placing a drawing on the inside of the cup held in place by a sock. The inmate them uses a super sharp needle to poke tat the image all the way around. When finished you rub ash into the holes and VOILA, drinkable art.

We had a buddy a while back who had a whole collection. And boy was there some sick stuff. Disney characters doing the nasty, sad girls and low riders, I wish I had some pictures of them to share. For the sake of your psyche and beloved childhood memories it is probably best that I don't.

Check out this amazing score from the flea market today. How preposterous. This man is calmly drugging his rooster in preparation for his death battle. in pink slippers no less. And it is all captured on velvet (which we all know is thee highest in class and sophistication)

I love this shit. It encompasses everything that good/bad art should be. cheap (check), insane subject matter (check), velvet (check), executed with a modicum of skill (check). And there we have it people. ART.

Delorean Wishes and Trans Am dreams

Most people that know me are aware of my undying love for all things slightly over the top. I'm not one blend into the background. I demand excess in love, life, clothing, cars, diamonds. I can't just have 6 unicorns and call it a collection. I need 600, and a special pink unicorn shelf, and a tattoo......lord.

I have been known to just start yelling and dancing when I feel things have gotten to stagnant, then before you know it everybody is having a grand ol time! I am not particularly skilled. I cant sing, play music, dance well, draw well, build things....all I have to give is a big smile and a winning attitude, and baby I'm gonna give it till I can't no more.

But I digress.

I think to compliment my undying awesomeness and complete my image one of these marvels of modern technology are required.

If I had the chance I would gold plate the whole thing, gold aluminium bumpers, gold baby dayton wheels, sparkly gold shag seat covers, gold headers, gold air cleaner. GOLD.

We could go for a ride together and you know what? We would look so rad.

Darjeeling Limited

The Darjeeling Limited is one of my favorite movies, it isn't very well received, even by Wes Anderson fans but for me it is complete perfection.

Every time I watch it I instantly want to dress in Louis Vuitton sportswear, become incredibly wealthy, take a shit ton of pain killers, smoke like cancer ain't no thang, and travel the world on train. With my trusty assistant providing itineraries, laminated of course.

But by far the most amazing is the custom Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton luggage that acts as a 4th main character throughout the film (Get it, baggage? they're carrying around a shit ton of baggage???). They feature drawings of palm trees and animals done by Wes Anderson's brother (who coincidentally does all the art for his movies and is my single greatest artistic influence) Example below
