Hot Dog on a Stick

Hot Dog on a Stick, quite possibly one of the greatest looks of all time. What is bad about color blocked mini dresses, jockey hats, short shorts and winning smiles? Not to mention that fresh squeezed lemonaide and the piece de resistance, corndogs, are inevitably part of the mixture. Nothing is bad with it, in fact, EVERYTHING is right on.

Every year around this time I start thinking about how much I want a uniform. I toy around with the idea of getting a job there for a week, I scour ebay, I lament and whine about the subsequent failure of either idea and I hope upon hope that I will magically find one before Halloween, promising myself that I will make one if time starts running out. More often the not I forget a few months later and then the cycle begins anew the following Winter.

So here is my public promise that I will have a hot dog on a stick uniform to wear on All Hallows Eve this year or at least a very crafty reader or friend will help me make one. Hint, hint. On Halloween 2011 I will proudly sport my bitchin outfit and I promise to carry corn dogs to hand out.

In slightly related news Disneyland was totally radical. I'm still processing the overwhelming amount of information so I will do a full update in a couple days.

Brock looking adorable in his hotdog outfit and Sigourney looking....well looking something but I don't think it is adorable.

You're Looking Happily Deranged

Let us take a short walk (getting longer by the day) back to the 90's and visit the insanely awesome and not nearly appreciated enough Nickelodeon show "The Adventures of Pete and Pete".

When it first started airing in 1993 I was a mere 10 years old and instantly hooked, it wasn't until I was a bit older though that I fully appreciated the innate radness of a show that featured among its recurring cast the likes of Micheal Stipe, Iggy Pop, Debbie Harry and Steve Buscemi.

If you haven't had the privilege, the basic premise follows two ginger headed brothers Pete and Pete (and lil Petes Tattoo Petunia) as they traverse bravely and fool hardedly through life along side their hapless yet lovable neighbors, lady loves and family. Were those enough adjectives for you?

I'm pretty sure Artie (The Strongest Man...In the WORLD) was every ones favorite, I still kinda have a thing for him with his nerd glasses and ultra tight body suit, (rargh!)

Take a listen at the bitchinly 90's theme song, totally brings a tear to my eye...

Did anyone else watch and love Pete and Pete?

and in honor of Lil Pete's awesome lumberjack style...

This Sunday I'll be donning some Mickey Ears and partying like what on my inaugural trip to Disneyland. Even though I visited Disney world as many times as a spoiled only child could possibly visit Ive never been to the California original. After pestering Donny for what seemed like years we finally were able to schedule sometime to hang with Mickey.

Here are some Disney pics from yesteryear, I hear they changed 20,000 leagues under the sea to Finding Nemo (10 bucks says Jules Verne is rolling in his grave) but as long as Captain EO is the same I'm all good.

Everyday Wear

I'm not too sure where I am going to wear silver sparkle 5 inch platforms but I am pretty positive that one day I will be really, really, really glad I have them. I also haven't quite decided if I am going to pair the flake helmet with them either (is it overkill?)

Anywho, scored these puppies for $5.49 yesterday at Ross. Hurray for bargain shopping! If your tastes are as questionable as mine I'm sure you will still be able to score your own pair.

Fill Your Trunk With Pedro's Junk

First off I wanna say a huge THANK YOU to the people who have been visiting the Unicorner. I never imagined anyone but my mom or Donny would care about the stupid shit I say on a daily basis (and even they block it out most of the time) I'll try and keep thinking of semi interesting things to talk about!

I took a lot of road trips as a child. My grandparents and parents hauled me all over creation and back multiple times and I count myself lucky to have been able to see much of the United States from the backseat of their Lincoln.

Most of the time the country past in a blur for me while I wiled away my time reading this and that, but one special rad side attraction (typo and I'm keeping it!, whoah, I think I just stubbled across the title for my book! Rad Side Attractions! I called it, don't go stealing it from me now) always roused me from my literary studies ie babysitters club.

South of the Border! Fill your trunk with Pedro's Junk Bitches!!!

It was the best and most important stop while on the way to Disney World. I brought home so many rattlesnake eggs, dream catchers, sombrero's and Indiana Jones bullwhips over the years I could have opened my own tourist stand.

From at least 5 miles away you could see Pedro beckoning to you, his cheeky grin promising tons of fun! I always clamored out of the car to be the first one to get on the jackalope ( Or only one, I take it from looking at old family photo's no one was as eager to ride it as I was)

But before even that you would spot the Billboards for Pedros from hundreds of miles in any direction. My favorite said "Hey Kids! Start screaming now, you are only 100 miles from Pedros!"

Great Idea Pedro!

I know someone else must have Pedro stories! Give it up, any of you awesome people been to Pedros?

PS I am working on an EPIC road trip post I will share soon. It is NOT to be missed

Roller Disco

So last night marked my triumphant return to the roller rink. By triumphant I obviously mean I only fell once! I did run into a wall though at pretty high speeds. No harm done, the swelling to my cheekbone is like free cheek implants. Huzzah!

These are my rad skates, Donny custom painted the unicorn ones for me!

Even though my skill is severely lacking nothing makes me happier. Throw on some bitchin toons, strap on those quads (PS wearing roller blades to a skating rink, no matter how good you are, is the height of lame) and feel the wind blowing in my feathered hair. Add some black lights, gold sequins and disco balls for good measure (as well as the beers we shotgunned in the parking lot before going in. what can I say, everything hurts less after a few shotgunned brewskies) and you have the ingredients for a radical night on the town!

I wish I had some photos to share, but like usual I was having too much fun being in the moment and forgot to document it. Besides I was moving like lighting, you would have never caught me on film........not really.
